Alright, so I wanted to create a banner for this FanFiction I'm writing. Well, I wanted to use Adobe PhotoShop, because that is what I am more familiar with, but Dad told me to go to Tablet PC Post, and there, I downloaded ArtRage.
I haven't used it yet, but I was playing around a little, and it looked pretty cool! The reason it looked cool was because the paintbrush feature made it look more like you were actually painting. Also, the pen sensitivity was pretty awesome!!
I made my very first aspx page earlier today on the Avaratec C3500 Tablet PC. I used Microsoft ASP.NET Web Matrix to create the page, which came from the CD that was included with the book we bought. It was SO much easier than I thought it would be. After I opened the program, a box came up saying "Add New File". I chose ASP.NET Page, and made sure that I kept the language code "Visual Basic .NET" After I pressed OK, it came up with a blank page and all I had to do was type in the words I wanted it to show, and it came up. At the bottom of the blank page, there were four tabs - "Design", "HTML", "Code", and "All". It is really cool because it's just like using Word, so I can easily change the font size, and cool stuff like that.
The version that came on the CD was Version 0.5 Build 464. The newer version (0.6) is available on asp.net.

The code for this was...
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<form runat="server">
Hello World<!-- Insert content here -->
</form>
</body>
</html>
There's a ASP.NET Web Matrix Project "Getting Started Guided Tour"
My writing hasn't improved, but instead the type of software has improved. Why? With Dad always looking over my shoulder to help me write, I decided that it was time for me to find a way to check spelling and write better without his help. I downloaded a trial version of TextPad 4.7.3 - 32 Bit Edition which I am currently writing in it now. TextPad is a "powerful, general purpose editor for plain text files." After I would write what I wanted, I could then use a program on Dad's computer - Style Writer. Using this, I could get some suggestions to improve my writing.
So last night, my Dad and I went to Barnes and Noble to get a book that would teach me ASP.NET. When we first got there, we went to the computer area, and there were 3 or 4 books that had ASP.NET in the title. The first one that Dad showed me was Teach Yourself ASP.NET in 24 Hours by Scott Mitchell, which happened to be the book we bought.
The reason I got this book was because there were several examples so you could understand and relate to it. Another reason I got this book was because on the back, the level was "beginning".
At first, Dad tried to show me other books, but several looked either too advanced or looked like one of those "textbooks" that drone on and on, and don't explain anything very well.
While reading the first few pages in the store, I learned the difference between static and dynamic web pages. The difference is that a static webpage stays the same with simple HTML while the dynamic webpage personalizes to who is visiting the site.

I've been elected to help Aunt Lora and Uncle Loren with Tablet PC Post. Tablet PC Post is the best download site for Tablet PC specific software, with the total number of downloads almost 100,000. Since the Tablet PC software runs on Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, then Post should be run on a Windows Server. Uncle Loren modified PostNuke so that the software can be downloaded easily, but the site is running on Linux. In addition, PostNuke uses MySQL. We want the backend to be Microsoft SQL.
My goal is to learn how to program ASP.NET. My first "project milestone" is to move Tablet PC Post from a Linux Box to a Windows 2003 Server. I'll start by installing PostNuke on our Windows 2003 Server. Next, I'll need to learn and install Microsoft SQL and ASP. NET. Although this project will definitely be a challenge, my knowledge of some basic HTML, the fact I've seen some PHP code, and that my Dad has talked about MySQL, will help me along the way. I'm really looking forward to learning all this stuff.
*sigh* School's been pretty boring lately, just a lot of stupid work.. but we've been helping out, by setting up the A.R. store, making a list ofthe stuff in the Media Center, and today, we get to... *drum roll* SHARPEN PENCILS!! *cricket*
Ya, it's not that exciting, but it's something to do.
J.A.U - Beth is still sick, and *hopefully* I'm getting sick too. But I hope I get sick before Break, so that I'm not sick on break, cause that would reallyl suck.
I know this is a little late, but I just wanted to post what happened with my science fair project.
I did the project on suspending magnets. I had the whole report done, and the backboard finished when I got to school. After I got to school and did my presentation, my teacher said that I would need more background research if I was going to be judged (five from every class were judged). Anywho, so I had to go to the computer lab and do some more research. (I added about a page) And then I went and showed Ms. Nardi, she approved it, and I set up my backboard.
After all that, I didn't even win anything. But it's okay tho, cause Kathryn (one of my friends) got 3rd place, so we're happy anyways!!!!!!
Yesterday, because it was my aunt's b-day, Beth and I went to go babysit my cousin, and some of her friends. It was fun, and we went swimming. The sad thing, is that it was really hot, and then when we got to the pool, the sun was going down, so it was freezing! LOL. Then Beth decided that she was going to go and get herself sick. So now she's home with a fever. Which is kinda sad. I dont think that I'll get sick tho, cause I never do.
One of my sister's friends had a softball game today, so I got to leave school early to go watch... haha, they lost, but it was still fun.

I love blogging because it's like therapy. I can write about anything and everything that happens to me - from the food I ate to what I was doing when I heard the latest 'breaking news'. Being able to communicate with my friends (online and/or real life) through my blog is important to me.

Well, we had the basketball tournament! The boys lost against Learning Plaza, so they got 2nd place. The girls... idk what they did, but they ended up with 4th place.
