Video of new X60 ThinkPad on Gottabemobile

Gottabemobile has two great posts on the latest Tablet PC ThinkPad, the X60.

Bob is going to flip when he sees this. He's been wanting a new, smaller Tablet PC (he's been using the Gateway M275 with a 14" display). Over the last 9 months or so details have been leaking about the X60 and its great to see that the X60 lives up to most of our expectations.

I like the configurability of the X60. Up to 4GB RAM. Up to 100GB 7200 RPM SATA drive. Up to SXGA+ (1400x1050) resolution (An indoor/outdoor touch display is also available). 8-cell battery which Lenovo folks say gives 7-1/2 hours of battery life. A second, thin battery can added for even more battery life.). Weight is just under four pounds--which is OK.

Of all the features, the processor may be a little lagging--it supports up to a 1.83GHz Core Duo L2500. But that's not too bad. The Intel graphics are OK (Intel GMA 950 with 128MB shared memory)--particularly for a mobile device I guess.

What a great looking Tablet PC.

Lenovo is taking pre-orders now and expects shipping units in 3 to 4 weeks. Hmm. That means by the time I'd get it I'd be well on my way to running Vista on all my machines. I wonder if the X60 has all the drivers for Vista ready to go. More to think about before I pull out my credit card.
