I often take my Toshiba M400 Tablet PC with me on trips and more than once I've had the DVD tray accidentally pop out either when pulling the M400 out of my backpack or when shifting the M400 around.
Last week at NECC a Toshiba rep told me how to prevent this from happening.
All you have to do is to tap on the DVD-looking icon in the System Tray and in a pop-up menu that appears, select the "Power Off" option. Once you do this the tray will no longer pop open when you accidentally or otherwise depress the DVD "open" button.
Once you want to use the DVD, simply tap on the DVD icon again and select the "Power On" option. This will then allow the DVD tray to pop open.
