What's this? Another blogger gets a sneak peak at a UMPC? Yep! This time Neil Roodyn is lucky enough to try out a pre-production UMPC of an unspecified OEM.
I wonder if anyone else wants on this "borrow a UMPC list for a couple days" list? What a great idea to spread real, hands-on information about UMPCs.
Anyway, back to the UMPC. What are Neil's impressions of the unit he tested?
* Touch is a very intuitive way to interact with a user interface
* I would like one as a coffee table device at home.
* I can see it would be useful as quick note taking device and have been using it for IM.
* I would like it as a portable media player.
He'd also like to see better battery life and sync support, which are two areas becoming increasingly important with mobile PCs. In terms of battery life, I'm looking to Intel to continue to optimize power usage and on the sync side I'm still looking for a solution that works the way I do. Eventually someone will come up with a killer solution.
