"As a recovering editor, I’ve always wanted the ability to mark up and edit a Word document using gestures on the Tablet PC." [Marc Orchant]
You got it.
After mulling it over, I think I'll hand out a version of Word Gestures to a couple dozen people first in order to make sure the most basic things work OK--such as, does the program even install correctly. Marc, I'll put you on that list.
Once I can clear out the major problems I'll post the beta (really it's an alpha) for open download.
I'll be very interested in hearing what gestures people want, whether they are having problems with particular gestures being recognized, and whether the integration with Word itself is good enough.

Posted by: Loren on August 11, 2005 09:51 AMThanks Loren - I can not wait to try it out! My document editor is saying this might be the thing to make her a Tablet user - and she does love her red pen ;^)
I told her she can have a red pen that will never leak and never run out of ink if she starts using a Tablet.
Posted by: Marc Orchant on August 11, 2005 01:59 PMPlease include me too as alpha beta gamma tester :-)
useful gestures would be:
1.First letter of a word in capital
2.complete word in capitals
3.1 and 2 reversed
4.insert line feed
5.remove line feed
Keep it simple please. I'd prefer some basic features with intuitive moves. This would be way better than learning a set of complicated gestures. Less may really be more here.
