Wouldn't it be useful if Windows TaskMgr was able to indicate and/or display information on what each process was? I do this by hand now. When I go to someone's machine and see a process I'm not sure of, I search google to see what it is. Is it spyware? A standard Windows service? Or some other app? Maybe Microsoft couldn't provide the service itself, but could the OS provide a standard interface for it?
Posted by Loren at June 12, 2004 05:04 PMI use the nearly defacto standard Process Explorer from www.SysInternals.com to give me a good idea what things are. Then google if the information I needed wasn't there
Posted by: thadk on June 12, 2004 06:23 PMThanks. Now that I think about it, it's interesting that I grab for Google first. I guess I'm a googler at heart.
