A noteable picture

At a book signing Scoble got Hillary Clinton's autograph on a Tablet PC. Here's what he did:

"When I showed her my Tablet, it had her picture on it (one that I had taken just minutes before). She signed her own digital picture."

This is an example of why I'd like to see an optional camera control toolbar in OneNote. Nah, not so that we can all collect Hillary Clinton's autograph, but rather so that we can easily snap photos and annotate them on the go. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I use a custom app for easily taking pictures and making them available for annotating, but a plugin or tool built into OneNote would be ideal. I've thought about creating a standalone app that pastes an image into OneNote whenever I activate it and hit the Enter key button on the Tablet PC case, but I haven't gotten around to it. However, integrating the image capture with note-taking makes a lot of sense because you could provide more control over the picture captured. For instance, OneNote could capture an image stream and not just paste a single image into the paper, but instead use it as a placeholder for the whole stream. Then the user could scroll back and forth in time to find the best image. Of course, by default the "best" image would be selected for you, but the flexibility would be nice. This is just one possibility. There are many others. I'm looking forward to the next tradeshow I attend where I can walk around the exhibits with my Tablet PC, take pictures with an attached webcam, and scribble my notes.

I'm already making something like this. (Curses now I won't get orignality points again!) Hahahah ;) Anyway I'm waiting to get a Creative Webcam Notebook to complete it.

Already have a program that copies from the clipboard, or opens a file, frames it and captions it like a polaroid.. (yes another idea that you came up with) and pastes it back into the clipboard for quick insertion into OneNote since OneNote chokes on multiple 1MB sized images in a page.

Great! Let us know when you get a version that you're ready to share. I can't wait.

Nuts.. I'm having some problems with my Drag N Drop functionality.. think it's a thread related problem. You wouldn't happen to know wheter the DragDrop event is fired on another thread would you?
