Messenger watermark
While I'm mentioning things I'd like to see in future versions of Messenger, here's another: I'd optionally like to see a watermark of the user's name in the Messenger input panel.
When I have several Messenger windows open at once (on several machines!), I sometimes send a message to the wrong person. I hate when this happens.
Paying more attention would fix the problem, although a watermark would help.

Messenger could have the user name at the bottom of the window or above the font bar.
Posted by: Lora on July 23, 2003 12:17 PMYep, there are different ways to do it. Essentially, the name of the person you're having the conversation with is too far from the input panel. Some people like me need big, obvious helpful hints. :-)

Posted by: Daisy on July 24, 2003 05:59 PMOoooh!!! Excellent idea. I have so done that and it can be embarrassing not to mention confusing for the other person. The new version with the pics do help a bit if you are used to someone's display pic but still doesn't help you in a rush.
