OK. Now that Scoble has revealed that his 18 readers is more like 80,
I decided to take a closer look to see who they are.
Here's the breakdown:
16 Original readers
4 A-list webloggers
31 Microsoft employees wondering if he will be called on the carpet
12 Tablet PC enthusiasts
2 VCs trying to figure out if there's money in weblogs
8 Slashdotters waiting to pounce
5 Journalists looking for leaked information on Longhorn
4 Microsoft lawyers
3 Bay Area entrepreneurs wanting to create a buzz
7 People contemplating writing their own weblog
2 Former classmates
1 Google employee trying to figure out why Scoble's page ranking is so high
1 His boss
1 His wife
Why does the list add up to more than 80?
Because there are always more readers than Scoble lets on, of course.
After all, Scoble is the consummate marketer and firmly believes in over delivering.
...oh, my Mom reads Scoble too....

you forgot the three people at Apple reading this and going "hey! we're the innovators!"
I don't think I fit into any of those categories. Maybe there should be a "miscellaneous readers" group? :)
Posted by: neil on July 11, 2003 06:47 AMGreat post! Thanks for the morning laugh. I think the closest I fit in is as a slashdotter waiting to pounce, because I'm not on the "A-List" :)
Posted by: Arcterex on July 11, 2003 08:43 AMI'm still trying to figure out where I fit in there, but regardless, this is great stuff. :)
