Scoble skeptically points out a rumor that Apple is going to make a Tablet PC. Could this be? I don't know.
However, the current Tablet PCs leave a niche open for Apple: for graphic artists and other deskbound workers that use digitizing tablets.
Microsoft's first generation of Tablet PCs have small screens and don't support pressure sensitivity out of the box for Photoshop and other legacy-apps. In addition, many high-end graphics-oriented applications, such as Photoshop, have dozens of keyboard shortcuts and essentially require a keyboard to be effective--so stand-up mobility without a keyboard isn't a feature that Apple has to shoot for.
By making a larger tablet (15+ inches) with built-in pressure-sensitivity support for all the popular photo and illustration packages, Apple may have a winner in this market.
In a sense, they could commoditize the Wacom Cintiq market.
A very interesting question is: If Apple creates a tablet, would Microsoft port OneNote to it? I doubt it, but who knows.
We'll have to wait and see.

These rumors don't deal with the fact that Steve Jobs has stated strongly in the above interview (which it's been a while since I've read) that he is against the whole whole-hog tablet pc concept though.
