SlateVision Covers

Lora over at www.EscStore.com has been experimenting with softcover jackets for the FIC SlateVision Tablet PC:

The red one is the original prototype and the two others were "repainted" in Photoshop. I think it would be cool if Tablet PCs had softcovers like this or maybe snap-on replacement covers like those used with cell phones. It would be a great way to personalize a Tablet PC as well as provide some extra protection from little dings and scratches.

Right now she's using various neoprene-like materials trying to find one that is lightweight and yet not too flexible. It turns out that if the material stretches too much, the edges curl out and can easily catch on things. A molded plastic would avoid this problem. She also uses a plastic netting-like material for the backside to allow plenty of ventilation.

I look forward to hearing how these covers work out.
