Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC 2003) is being held this week in New Orleans. There's a Tuesday session dedicated to the Tablet PC:
Tablet PC Innovations
"Tablet PCs will take advantage of many innovations—including gigahertz processors, wafer-thin batteries, wide-view displays, cordless headsets, pocket-able power adapters, dual band wireless modems, ergonomic thumb wheels, and fingerprint scanners. With the Tablet PC, even smart leather becomes interesting as a peripheral. Join one of the visionaries behind the Microsoft Tablet PC initiative and see what opportunities the future of the Tablet PC will offer your company." (Source: WinHEC 2003 website)
I'm ready for most of these features now--particularly the 3GHz processors. I'd like to use a Tablet PC more for development and speed is a necessity. (The folks at WhatIsNew are running a poll on whether people would pick a 3GHz Tablet PC over a standard 3GHz notebook or desktop, if they had a choice.)
Wouldn't it be great if WinHEC made recordings of these sessions available over the Net?
