Tablets ready for Prime Time--Literally?

Marcus has been tracking Tablet PC cameos on 24.

I'd really get excited if Barbara Walters were to get her written cues from a tablet...or if Lester Holt were to swagger across the MSNBC set, tablet in tow. Seems like there should be someone in the MSNBC crowd that's ready to be a TPC adopter. Hmm. Maybe there's a problem with the set lighting being too bright.

Come to think of it, I didn't notice a tablet in the MSDN News Update section of Microsoft's latest .Net Show either.

CNBC people need them, like Joe Kernen.

Yeah.

And after thinking about it a bit more...it seems like the tablet would be great for roaming reporters covering sporting events. Not only could they see the video playbacks on a TPC, they also could mark the videos up. The pen and digitizer may be overkill for them, but then again, maybe there's something that could be done with the pen that goes beyond what's typically done with telestrators today.

The guys in the booth would lose their telestrator monopoly.
