Yesterday I started school again. :P The only thing different is the order of my teachers. I have Mr. Cuestas first, and then Mrs. Nero, and then Ms. Monroe. But Ms. Monroe has been absent the last 2 days, she is coming back tomorrow. School was okay, but I don't like having homework again. :P
For my school assignment I could either make a lantern or a castle. I decided to make a lantern
To make a lantern, all you need is an empty can (I used an empty greenbean can. ), a washable marker, a blanket/ towel/ or pillow, a nail and hammer or a drill, a clothing hanger, a strong pair of scissors, a candle, and some paint.
Step #1: Take the wrapper off of your can. Make sure all the paper, and glue is removed.
Step #2: Using your marker, draw a design or pattern around the can. The design shouldn't be to small. Make sure you can see it. Place dots on certain parts of your design. Remember, we are going to make those dots holes for light to shine through so don't put to many, or to few.
Step #3: Place your can on the blanket/ towel/ or pillow. Take your drill, or hammer and nail, and drill/hammer holes through the dots you drew. Also, add two more holes at the top of the can, they should be across form each other, these two holes will be used to attatch your handle to the main piece of the lantern.
Step #4: Wipe off your design once you are finished drilling your holes, so you can see the design, and only the design.
Step #5: How long do you want your handle? Take your hanger, and clip it to the size you want. Bend the hanger in half, and place the two ends in two holes at the top. Bend your hanger to a comfortable position for your hand.
Step #6: You can now see tell how your lantern will look. How do you like it? But, you aren't done. Take some hot wax, and put it at the bottem of your can. Quickly place your candle in the wax. (If you don't have hot wax, just melt another candle.)
Step #7: Paint your lantern, any color, any design, any way you want. Let the paint dry, and there you have it, your lantern. You may use spray paint as the paint. It works well on this project.
You have just earned an A in my class. LOL.
Tomorrow my sister and I have to go back to school. After 5 weeks off, it is going to feel like a jail cell. Luckily, my off track assignment is finished, so I don't have to worry about it.
Yesterday my mom took my sister and I to see the movie Agent Cody Banks. I thought it was pretty good, though, his "handler" should have been wearing some more clothes.
Like my cousin Kim, I also want to know what everyone else likes, and what I should try reading.
So, I was wondering if everyone could tell me their favorite book and/or author in the comments. In the first week of June, I'll post the top 5 favorite authors and the top 5 favorite books for everyone to see. Please only vote once, but you can check back anytime to see if your author and/or book is winning.
Thanks,

At disneyland we all had a great time. But can you believe it, the line for Splash mountain was 2 hours long, and the fast passes weren't valid untill like 6:55, or later. By 4:00 you couldn't even get a fast pass.
But, every one had a great time. I even got a little Mickey Mouse, dressed up as a in Disneyland clothes, a backpack, and a hat for $8.

I wrote this in the car, on the way to Disneyland.
On our way to Disneyland, Sarah S, Victoia C, and I played the card game GinRummy. Or something like that. I won with 120 against 114 (Victoria) and 58. (Sarah) Sarah H. and Jessica C. were in the other car. 7 people can't fit in our car. We all can't wait to get to Disneyland.
Although it isn't my birthday yet, tomarrow I get to go to Disneyland with my best friends for my birthday celebration! I can't wait! It will be so much fun!
I really want to ride the log ride, space mountain, and that big white mountain one. Too bad we are only staying till 6 o'clock, so that no one gets cranky.
I might not be able to write tomarrow, but I'll try.
Like my cousin Kimberly, you can see her weblog here, I also wish to attened Harvard University.
Though, I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Many thoughts have crossed my mind, a doctor, a nurse, a lower grade teacher, a childrens/young adults author...
Hopefully this weblog will help me attened Harvard.
Today I got to see Elisabeth, she is now 2 days old. But, I didn't get to hold her, she was asleep. :(
I also watched Maura, my 3 year old cousin, and Alison, Elisabeth's sister. We went to the library, for storytime, and the park. It was really fun.
Later we went to souplantation for lunch. The food was okay, it was an all you can eat buffet. After we ate, we couldn't find the car. It was in this huge parking garage, and we were in the wrong area.
So, today was preety fun, I had a good time.
My mom's best friend just had a girl, yesterday. She is about 9 pounds, and 20 inches. or something like that! She was named Elisabeth, just like me, exept, she is spelled with an S, and I'm spelled with a Z.
My mom is babysitting here sister Alison. Isn't that cool!
I won the Risk game! We didn't play a full game, but by the time it was time to go to sleep, I had South America, and Australia. The next turn I was going to put down 17 pieces. 4 for my two countries, 5 for how much land I owned, and 8 from the Risk cards I was going to put down.
It was so much fun! I love playing Risk, exept for when i'm losing.
My dad is doing a speech on snottites. No, not children picking there noses, or sneezes. Bacteria, surviving in a cave in Cueva de Villa Luz. In his speech he talks about how an explorer, Jim Pisarowicz, ran from the cave, only to find his showing skin sore, and his clothes in pieces. He continues telling how another group later came back in full suites to explore the cave, and how they found out that there was battery acid dripping from the top of the cave.
I think snottites are so interesting. Maybe you can find some more infromation about snottites.
Happy Easter! I hope everyone is having a very happy holiday with there family and/or friends or anybody else!
Happy Easter,

One of my favorite board games, besides Monopoly, is Risk. Risk is a 3 to 6 player game. The box says 2 to 6, but it isn't very much fun with only 2 players.
The object of the game, like Monopoly, is to conquer the board. But, unlike Monopoly you don't conquer the board by placing hotels, and winning money. It's not that easy. To win Risk, you must fight other players to conquer contries, then continents, and hopefully the world.
I haven't yet won the game, but each time I learn 1 more thing that helps me. I'll tell you 2 of my tips:
1. Fight and win at least one battle per turn, this will allow you to collect Risk cards. when you have 3 matching Risk cards, you can turn them in, and the next turn you will recieve more armies.
2. At the begining of the game, make sure you conquer Australia and/or South America. This will allow you to place 2 more armies on each turn. Although 2 more armies doesn't sound like a lot, it helps, and you are putting more than your opponent, which helps you win!
Enjoy!
I was told about a few rescue sites, and I wanted to share them with you. There are 5 websites, but all you need is one web address.
Don't worry,it's free. The sponsors pay. All you need to did is use your mouse.
If you would like to help feed and care for animals, click here. If you would like to help feed someone, click here. If you would like to help a person with breast cancer, click
here. If you would like to help a sick child, click here. If you would like to save the Rainforest, click here.
On each of these websites, you should notice a picture, or diagram. Underneath the picture or diagram, there should be a button, either yellow, pink, blue, green or purple, depending on the site. To save someone, or something, all you need to do is click on that button. The button should bring you to another page. At the top of that page it should tell you how much food you have given, how much land you have saved... If you would like to participate in another of these websites, all you need to dois press the back button. This will bring you back to the page you were at last. At the top you should notice some tabs, press the tab the says the program you wish you participate in, and continue saving people, animals, and land.
You are allowed to do this once a day,on your computer, so if you can, please click daily.
We just finish watching the movie, See Spot Run,with the directors notes. If you have the DVD, it is really interesting to listen how the director and everyone made the movie.
One thing he pointed out, was that in the car chase, the little boy is wearing a harnes. At one point, if you pause the movie, you are able to see it. It is a tiny blue strap. The only way I noticed it, besides hearing the directors notes, was that the stap of blue goes the opposite direction of the strips on his clothes, and that the harnes slipped out from under the shirt, soit was showing.
Emma Watson turned 13 on the 15th of April! Just in case you don't know, Emma Watson plays Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter films. Happy Bithday Emma!
The date for arrival of the 5th Harry Potter book is June 21,2003! I just found this site, click here and see how long is left, till the Harry Potter book arrives. This site has a count down till the book arrives! Also check out their news on the Harry Potter books.
While on spring vacation, Bird, and I listened to books on tape. One of the books we listened to was "The Thief Lord". We really enjoyed it, and I thought I might recommend it to you.
The Theif Lord is a story about 2 boys, who lost their mother. After they lost thier mother, their aunt, decided she wanted to adopt Bo,the younger one. Of cource Prosper, the older one wasn't happy about that, and convinced his younger brother to run away with him, to Venice,Italy.
You can read about how at first the two boys live alone, and then how they find a group of friends just like them, or so they think. You can also find out about a mysterical item, that was stolen, but not completly. The group of friends must chose to steal for money, or live their life as they have been.
I would give this book 5 stars. The Thief Lord keeps you on your toes, through the whole book.
