My aunt recently attended a Microsoft MVP Summit. (Read what she said about her trip.) While she was there she noticed how few women were MVPs. I think this is quite interesting. Why are so few women MVP's?
My aunt thinks I stopped playing with computers, tuxreports, and blogging because people yelled at us. Anonymous posters who don't realize who they are or perhaps didn't care.
I agree with her. What do you think?

It appears you must have deleted most of the comments that were rude (which is understandable) but I was kinda curious as to what they said myself... It's sad that people can't respect your intrests, and I have to say I'm really impressed by what you know. Seriously. If I hadn't have read your aunt's article first, I would have guessed you were in your 20s or so. :D
So my advice is, blog tech if you want to blog tech. People who leave anonymous rude comments are doing nothing but wasting their time. Rock on, chica. :D
Posted by: nikkiana on April 17, 2004 07:38 PMIt's because that women tend to not go into technical careers. About 1/2 of the MVPs are developers or coders. I'm a network administrator, a woman, and a MVP. There are 3 women in my SBS MVP group. No one yells at me.
