What is your favorite book or author?

Like my cousin Kim, I also want to know what everyone else likes, and what I should try reading.

So, I was wondering if everyone could tell me their favorite book and/or author in the comments. In the first week of June, I'll post the top 5 favorite authors and the top 5 favorite books for everyone to see. Please only vote once, but you can check back anytime to see if your author and/or book is winning.

I don't believe Fred, by the way. Has Fred in fact finished READING the 3rd book? (Not tapes) hummmm?

There are so many books from which to choose.... :-D But a good current book you might enjoy reading, EMH is Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Sijie Dai.
