Besides the Harry Potter series, I also like another set of books, A Series of Unfortunate Events.
A Series of Unfortunate Events has 9 books. It's about these 3 orphans who have a large fortune. This man, Count Olaf tries to steal their fortune in every book, by putting on disguises.
This is my second favorite series!
Posted by EMH at January 4, 2003 08:19 AMi know almost every thing about the books.there will be 13;grim grotto, zymology zone, and visious victory.im almost posotive in the last one(visious victory) olaf will win and get there fortune. in the first one snicket said there is never a happy ending.i think the will kill quigley, wich will drive violat to kill herself.then the baudolaurs wont have a chance.i know everything about the 1-10 books.

Hey i totaly luv dese books! is all the stuff he rites true? cos he sais he goes round asking people about the baudelaires? who is beartrice?
does any1 know the true initials of VFD? i rekon the initials in the jam are not for jaques sniket but for either justice strauss or jerome squalor.(book 10)cos there was a passage way to 667 dark avenue and the baudelaire mansion. jerome says he climbed mount fraught with mrs baudelaire. Aunt josephines(book 3) husband was a VFD memder it sez in book 10 his nick name was ike.

These books are the BOMB! My friend got me to read these and i didn't think they were going to be this good. Even though Lemony always says that NOTHING good happens it still does. I mean the Baudelairs always get away from Count Olaf. Anyways, i hope the 13th isn't the vicious victory cuz that doesn't sound good. I hope that everyone would read these books cuz they are the best! They teach you that you should be thankful for everything that you have and not take it for granted. I have SO many questions about these books! I am waiting forever for the 11th to come out! Thanks Lemony for writing these books. i LOVE them!!!!!!

I love the Series Of Unfortunate Events.Lemoney Snickett uses very awesome discriptions.I'm looking forward to read the whole collection 9 times more.I really hope Lemoney Snickett come up with an idea of making a movie for every single book he's written of A Series Of Unfortunate Events.I'd love to see them all.

The series of unfortunate events is becoming so much of a mystery that i am about to die of curiosity!!! I don't know how someone could come up with such creative things like he does it is amazing!!! I think he could write these books forever and everybody would still love them but i think he will write another series about something diffrent. But i am sure they will be great books too. As for the movie, I think Jim Carrey is an excellent choice for the role of Olaf. He looks so creepy! This is just a rumor (I don't think it isn't true), but I heard Violet dies sometime in the series. Anyone know if that's true?

((its definatly that, it says on american amazon ((the books come out earlier there)) and also on the pic at the end there are toadstools, a comman characteristic of grottos! I CANT WAIT!!!

I read most of theese books in 5 hours simply because i cant put do anything but read when i get stuck into a book as wonderful as theese. some how my best fried didn't like the book i let her lend but she hasn't finnished it and she unfortunatly reads slowly. I've heard about the film that will becoming out later on in the year. I'm very excited about it although i've always enjoyed books more than films i can tell that this film will be a treat!

It comes out every few months and I don't have to wait for long for the next book unlike Harry Potter which comes out every year or two. It also have pictures so I know what going on. With the Series it start after Harry Potter and it have twice as many books than Harry Potter. And there will be more books then Harry Potter.

V.F.D is the volunteer fire department, and lemony and jacques snicket were in it as well as olaf. they were firefighters in other words, and the standard VFD sign is the eye.
The Baudelaire parents are both dead, if u read no. 8 u may think 1 of them is alive, but they are actually referring to a different fire. Well! thats all ive got, sory if u didnt want to know all this, but u didnt look away, did u!
